The church should do everything possible to convince the believer
who has sinned to be restored or right the wrong.

(Handle it with care: “carefrontation”)

RESTORATION

(In Greek meaning, a medical word: To set a broken bone…
“think of a patient and tenderness that requires; thus, CARE… CAREFRONTATION)

Stage 3: PUBLIC CAREFRONTATION (Goal: Restore a brother)
… carefrontation not crucifixion

A. Why resort to public carefrontation?

Demanded by Christ (Matt.18:17)
Commended by Christ (Rev. 2:2)
Reproved by Christ (Rev.2:14)

B. What sins subject to public carefrontation?

Known (1 Cor 5:11-13)
Continual (1 Cor 5:11-13)
Underwent stages 1&2 (unrepentant)

C. How does it work?

Discipline without Disffelowshipping

How does it work?
Discipline with Disfellowshipping

If repented…

CARE
FORGIVE
REAFFIRM

(2 Cor 2:5-11)… Like a returning prodigal son.

“I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 18:18

Reconcile people, handle it with care publicly: CAREFRONT…

  • God is glorified.
  • Relationships are restored.
  • Unity in the church is preserved.
  • Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred. Let me sow love.
Where there is injury -- pardon.
Where there is doubt – faith
Where there is despair – hope.
Where there is darkness – light.
Where there is sadness – joy…

“The LORD bless you and protect you; the LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the LORD look with favor on you and give you peace”  Num. 6:24-25

Vision: To see equipped members fulfilling the Great Commission.
