• In times of persecution, encourage about love.

  • Paul established the church in Thessalonica during his second missionary journey. He wrote this letter a short time later to encourage the young believers there. He wanted to assure them of his love during persecution.

• God is the supreme authority on love
  • Why is God the supreme authority on love?
  • • Because God is love, in the first place
      • And so we know & rely on the love God has for us. God is love… (1 John 4:16)
    • Because God increases love, in the first place
      • May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. (1 Thess. 3:12)
    • Because God teaches love, in the first place
      • Now about your love for one another, we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other (1 Thess. 4:9)
• LOVED TO LOVE.
  • God is love. He makes love overflow in and through you. And he teaches you 

to express in meaningful ways.
